Our commitment: gambling is entertainment
Gambling is a form of entertainment, not a way to make money or to solve money worries. Our games are games of chance, and over time the odds are in favour of the house. We ask you to treat what you stake as the cost of the entertainment, in the same way as a cinema ticket or an evening out, and never as an investment.
Before you open a game, decide how much you are prepared to lose and how long you want to play for. Stake only money you can afford to lose, keep your play separate from borrowed money and household bills, and stop when you reach the figure you set yourself. Chasing losses by staking more to win back what has gone is usually the point at which entertainment ends.
- Set a budget before you start, and treat it as a limit rather than a target.
- Never gamble with money set aside for rent, bills, food or repayments.
- Take regular breaks and avoid long, unbroken sessions.
- Do not play when you are upset, under pressure or have been drinking.
- Do not increase your stakes to win back money you have already lost.
Our services are for adults only. We hold a gaming licence for the services we offer and we verify the identity and age of every account holder, so an account that cannot be verified will not be able to deposit, play or withdraw.
Over-18s only
You must be 18 or over to hold an account with us. Letting anyone under 18 use your account breaches our terms and will lead to the account being closed.
The safer gambling tools in your account
Every account includes controls you can switch on yourself at any time. They sit in the safer gambling area of your account and apply across the whole site once they take effect. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to speak to anyone first.
| Tool | What it does | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps what you can pay in over a day, week or month | A lower limit applies at once |
| Loss limit | Caps the net amount you can lose over the period you pick | A lower limit applies at once |
| Session limit | Ends a session once your chosen time is up | From your next sign-in |
| Time-out | Locks the account for a short break | Immediately, and cannot be lifted early |
| Self-exclusion | Closes the account to play for a longer fixed period | Immediately, for the minimum period shown |
| Reality check | Shows an on-screen reminder at the interval you set | From your next session |
Deposit, loss and session limits
A deposit limit caps how much you can pay into your account over the period you choose. A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose in that period, counting winnings against your stakes. A session limit caps how long a single sitting can last and signs you out when the time is up. Any change that reduces your limit takes effect straight away; any change that gives you more room to play is held for a cooling-off period, and you can cancel it while it is pending.
Time-outs and self-exclusion
A time-out is a short break. Your account is locked for the length you choose, and it cannot be unlocked early. Self-exclusion is for longer: your account is closed to play for a fixed minimum period, you cannot sign in or deposit, and we remove you from our marketing lists. When that period ends, access is not restored automatically - you must ask us to reinstate the account, and a further cooling-off period applies before you can play again.
How to switch a tool on
- Sign in and open the safer gambling section of your account.
- Choose the tool you want and the period it should cover.
- Enter the amount or the length of the break - for example a deposit limit of £500 a month - and confirm.
- Check the on-screen confirmation and the e-mail we send you so the setting matches what you intended.
- If you need help at any point, use the live chat on the site or write to support@casinolottogo.co.uk.
Set a limit before you need one
Limits work best when they are set calmly, in advance. You can tighten them at any time, and a tighter limit always applies immediately.
Signs that gambling may be a problem
Problem gambling builds slowly, and it is often easier for other people to notice than for the person concerned. Go through the list below honestly.
- You play for longer or spend more than you planned.
- You stake more to win back money you have lost.
- You gamble with money meant for bills, rent or repayments, or you borrow to play.
- You hide how much you play or how much you spend from family and friends.
- Gambling is affecting your work, studies, sleep, health or relationships.
- You feel anxious, low or irritable when you are not playing.
- You play to escape stress, boredom or low mood rather than for entertainment.
- You have tried to cut down and found that you could not.
If several of these apply to you, use a time-out or self-exclusion now and speak to one of the organisations below. Support is free, confidential and available whether or not you decide to stop playing altogether.
Where to get help
Independent support is available across the United Kingdom. You do not need a referral and you do not need to tell us before you contact any of them.
- GambleAware - a charity that funds free information, advice and treatment for anyone affected by gambling, and signposts services in your area.
- GamCare - provides free counselling and structured treatment, one-to-one and group support, moderated forums and online chat for players and for the people close to them.
- GamStop - a free national self-exclusion scheme that, once you register, blocks you from gambling sites licensed in Great Britain for the period you select.
- The National Gambling Helpline - free and confidential, staffed by trained advisers who can talk through your situation and arrange further support.
It is also worth asking your bank whether it offers a gambling block on your cards, and looking at blocking software that prevents gambling sites loading on your devices. Free debt advice services can help if money is already a worry.
Protecting children and young people
It is unlawful for anyone under 18 to gamble. We check the identity, age and address details of every account holder, and we may repeat those checks at any time. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it, void any winnings and return the balance of deposits in line with our terms.
If you share a device with children or young people, a few simple steps make a real difference. Parental control and filtering software is widely available and can block gambling sites on a shared computer, tablet or phone.
- Keep your password private and do not save it in a shared browser.
- Always sign out when you finish, rather than leaving a session open.
- Use separate user profiles on shared devices, and lock your screen.
- Install parental control or filtering software and keep it up to date.
- Keep payment cards and card details out of reach.
